EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. Introduces IP25 Freedom Tracker™ for its Infrastructure Systems
Innovative solution for roaming across Project 25 systems
Irving, TX – August 14, 2009 – EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: EFJI) today introduced IP25 Freedom Tracker™ for its innovative IP25 portfolio of Project 25 compliant infrastructure systems. IP25 Freedom Tracker will be on display at the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials annual conference and exposition, August 16 – 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
“The key to full system coverage is not missing a call,” said Michael Jalbert, president and chief executive officer of EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. “With existing P25 conventional radio systems, calls can be missed if a radio user roams away from the site of the channel on which they are talking. The user must manually change to another channel. Our IP Freedom Tracker solution will find the user and will automatically route the call to an available channel so the calls are not dropped. This is a feature commonly found in P25 trunked systems that would cost millions more than conventional systems. Because it is internal to the network, IP Freedom Tracker will provide exceptional versatility without adding capital expense.” IP25 Freedom Tracker expands upon the Company’s commitment to both trunked and conventional infrastructure systems, Jalbert added.
