EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. Receives $0.5 Million Order from State and Local Customer

Company to provide Project 25 compliant two-way radios

Irving, TX – February 12, 2009 – EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: EFJI) today announced that it received a $500,000 order from a state and local customer, which calls for the company to provide its award-winning ES Series of Project 25 compliant two-way radios and accessories.

“First responders require equipment that is rugged, reliable, solid, and built for public safety,” said Michael Jalbert, president and chief executive officer of EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. “Our award-winning ES Series of P25 compliant radios implement the Enhanced (AMBE+2) P25 Vocoder, which provides a loud and clear digital sound. The FIPS-compliant encryption algorithms provide the security that the customer requires. We are pleased with the customer’s continued confidence in our communications solutions.” The company expects to ship the order in the first quarter, Jalbert added.
