EFJohnson Announces P25 Phase 2 Solution Offering at IWCE

EFJOHNSON ANNOUNCES P25 PHASE 2 SOLUTION OFFERING AT IWCE

IRVING, TEXAS – March 17, 2015 –  EF Johnson Technologies, Inc. will introduce its ATLAS® P25 Phase 2 system solution at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) March 18 – 19 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Karthik Rangarajan, vice president of marketing, comments: “We’re delighted to announce the expansion of our P25 open-standards based, critical communications solution. With the addition of ATLAS P25 Phase 2, EFJohnson has further enhanced its next generation turnkey P25 offering for public safety agencies including ATLAS base stations/repeaters, Viking® radios, StarGate® IP-based console systems and Armada® fleet management software.”

EFJohnson’s ATLAS P25 Phase 2 solution is the industry’s smallest, fully software defined base station platform, providing Phase 1 FDMA 12.5 kHz and Phase 2 TDMA 6.25 kHz operation. “Our clients now have the freedom to control their migration path to Phase 2 which offers enhanced spectral efficiency and greater channel capacity. Importantly, new clients have the power to future-proof their P25 investment and comply with any future regulatory changes based on the most advanced hardware and software platform in the industry today,” says Mr. Rangarajan.

ATLAS P25 Phase 1 and 2 systems are available in all system types including trunked, conventional, simulcast and hybrid operation in VHF, UHF and 7/800 MHz frequency bands.

“ATLAS systems are renowned for their superior performance and unmatched reliability. Based on EFJohnson’s patented distributed architecture, our P25 infrastructure eliminates the need for expensive, proprietary, central controller based deployments, and ensures a highly reliable and resilient system solution capable of withstanding multiple points of failure.”

“Systems with a central core are expensive, complicated and are susceptible to complete system failure which can have potentially devastating effects to public safety operations and officer safety. ATLAS is a smarter, cost-effective system option for users who want high reliability, and plug-and-play deployments. Our customers have the flexibility to start small and grow as their capacity and budget expands,” adds Mr. Rangarajan.

The P25 Phase 2 solution is comprised of ATLAS 4500 multi-mode base station/repeaters and Viking® multi/single band mobile and portable radios. IWCE attendees will be able to participate in P25 Phase 1 and Phase 2 system demonstrations at booth 1031.
