EF Johnson Technologies, Inc., a JVCKENWOOD company, today introduced the KENWOOD Viking VP8000S, a new slimline addition to its Viking VP8000 multi-band, multi-protocol portable radio family. Developed in response to direct feedback from law enforcement, the VP8000S brings a new form factor to the multi-band, multi-protocol platform.

The introduction reflects a straightforward commitment: You Asked. We Heard. We Delivered. Unveiled today at the International Association of Chiefs of Police Annual Conference and Exposition in Orlando, the VP8000S puts law enforcement leaders’ input at the center of the product announcement.

Police chiefs, sheriffs and other law enforcement professionals helped inform the direction of the new radio. The result is a slimline version of the Viking VP8000 that expands the family and gives agencies another option when considering portable radios for public safety communications.

Following the unveiling, the VP8000S is on display in the EFJohnson booth #1001. Attendees can also meet with the team for personalized, live briefings to see the new design, discuss the feedback behind its development and ask questions.

The Viking VP8000S will begin shipping in March 2027. Agencies attending IACP can experience the VP8000S in person through Tuesday, October 27th.
